Launch Letter

Dear Tender Witnesses,

We plan to send out our launch letter in the next few days to the 60 who
gathered last June. Please take this last opportunity to check the web site
for any final comments. In the past two weeks we have gotten great editing
help. We have changed the logo. We have improved the instructions for
becoming part of the membership directory. We will make a final edit of
some small things over the next few days. We welcome any last thoughts
before we go public. Please feel free to try out all our features.
Hopefully we have no glitches, but if we do that will help us work them out.

Here is the letter we plan to send out in a few days:

Dear International Authentic Movement Community,

You are invited to visit our new web site:

www.authenticmovementcommunity.org

A group of us have been working since the First International Authentic
Movement Gathering to make this happen. The entire report of the June
Gathering is published on the web site.

As a beginning we are offering the opportunity to place
Classified Ads and
be listed in a
Membership Directory for all movers. Listing in the Directory is free! Both
the Classifieds and access to the Directory will cost modest fees. The fees
that we charge for the services of the site will cover the operating costs
of the web site. Anything beyond our costs will be donated to Authentic
Movement programs such as the scholarships offered by Contemplative Dance.

We hope that more volunteers like Michael Gardos Reid, Christine Draper and
Carol Zahner might come forward to manage other aspects of the site. Let us
know if you have an idea and we will work with you to figure out if it is
feasible. In our imagination someone might want to start and moderate a blog
for discussion or publish articles and academic papers through the site. We
hope that your imaginations will be inspired to offer ideas for the
International Authentic Movement Community.

Patrizia Pallaro asked us to let you all know that Authentic Movement Volume
II: Moving the Body, Moving the Self, Being Moved: a Collection of Essays is
hopefully coming out by Xmas but there is no telling for sure. The web
site's small by comparison effort has had tons of details. The publisher of
the book is still swamped in corrections. Ann McNeal and I understand this
as we have waded our way through the details of this web site.

* Please become a member for free.

* Please pay our modest fees to access the membership directory or
place an ad. Your support will contribute to larger Authentic Movement
Community efforts.
